Allen Engineering AEM5
MK12 SPR SUPPRESSION
The Allen Engineering AEM5 is a direct fit for those looking to suppress a traditional MK12 SPR. The AEM5 is mounted to the rifle via an AEMB mount (not included) and a locating collar. The locating collar fits over the barrel to ensure correct alignment. 1/2x28 threads mount the AEM5 to the muzzle device, while a 20-degree taper on the adapter locks the suppressor to the barrel itself.
The reflex design of the AEM5 allows for more volume without the added length. This maximizes suppression while keeping the firearm's size manageable. The suppressor itself is 8.8" long but only adds 4-5" to the overall length of the rifle. To stay true to its lineage, the AEM5 remains unchanged from the original Ops Inc 12th Model design.
Effective October 2019, all AEM5s come standard with knurling.

Many shooters are initially drawn to the AEM5 based on its Ops Inc. linage and design for the U.S. Military's MK12 Special Purpose Rifle. For the purpose of cloning the MK12 rifle it's the correct choice for historical accuracy. That's not the only aspect of the AEM5 that should be examined. Its unique over-the-barrel design allows for better suppression without as much added length. The Allen Engineering AEM5 is also a fantastic-sounding 5.56 suppressor. For those looking for a quiet, over-the-barrel 5.56 suppressor or one dedicated to an MK12 SPR clone, the AEM5 is an option worth exploring.
