Purchase to Home Delivery in Under Two Weeks

Unless you've been living under a rock for the past year, you probably know about some of the insanely fast ATF approval times. With no delay in the background check, we see many clients getting approved in a matter of days. You've also probably seen numerous online posts about dealers dragging their feet and the process taking longer than it should. With approvals happening this fast, it's more important than ever to have a dealer who handles their part of the process quickly, efficiently, and accurately. For our customers who are having their silencer shipped directly to their residence, we're seeing the process as short as 1.5 to 2 weeks in many cases.

What can I do to make everything as fast as possible?

Pay attention to the small details. Double-check everything, and then check it again. When completing any portion of the paperwork, from the initial profile to the 4473 after approval, take your time and make sure everything is correct. Any typographical errors, mismatched information, or incorrect auto-fill fields may result in delays in processing. Common delays include small oversights such as incorrect places of birth, transposed numbers in birthdays, and other very simple oversights.

What can I do if the ATF is being slow?

Unfortunately, not much. If it is delayed an exceptionally long time, such as 8-12+ months, many of our clients have luck getting their Congress representatives involved. Waiting it out is the only course of action for shorter delays, such as a few weeks to a few months. The ATF prioritizes applications with easy and smooth background checks. Currently, we are seeing roughly 50% of applications go through extremely quickly. Similar names to a bad actor, past records, security clearances, or other demographic information that throw a red flag will delay the application.

What if my CLEO is slow to respond?

Some CLEOs simply don't make it a priority to check their mail (both physically and electronically) or reply to our inquiries with them. While we ultimately can not force them to do anything, we do have a team that constantly monitors the notices. If a CLEO is being slow, we will take action to remedy the situation. This includes resending notices, making phone calls, and sending emails in order to confirm receipt as required by federal law.

How long does UPS take?

Usually, only a day or two. The shipment is a two-part process. Once we have received notice the CLEO has received the required forms, we stage your package at our local service center in your state. That way when we can legally ship it, the transit time is generally 1-2 days. While UPS is generally quick, at times there are delays due to severe weather, holidays, or other issues that may extend delivery by a few days.
