The Updates

With the release of the updated eForms system, there are many questions about how Capitol Armory handles Form 4 submissions. We exclusively use e-filing unless a customer specifically requests paper forms.

As always, we work hard to keep the submission process fast, painless, and efficient. Even with the system changes, we maintain strong efficiency and consistently file electronic forms.

Since the rollout, we have addressed several hurdles. While the system remains prone to occasional issues, it now runs more smoothly than before. The most common problems include unresponsive or sluggish behavior, but these occur less frequently. When delays arise, we continue to enter form information after business hours and on weekends to ensure timely submission.

The updated eForms system supports more timely approvals, which benefits everyone involved.

The Filing Process

Existing Form 4 Clients
1) Once your Form 4 is prepared, you receive an email to sign via DocuSign.
2) After signing, you are placed in our e-filing queue.
3) Visit eforms.atf.gov to create or update your account.
4) When your form is ready to certify, you receive an email with step-by-step instructions. Your Form 4 is officially submitted after certification is complete.

New Form 4 Clients
1) Create your Capitol Armory profile using the email sent after your purchase.
2) Send us one physical fingerprint card following the emailed instructions.
3) Once we receive your prints, we prepare your paperwork.
4) When your Form 4 is ready, you receive an email to sign via DocuSign.
5) After signing, you are placed in our e-filing queue.
6) Visit eforms.atf.gov to create or update your account.
7) When your form is ready to certify, you receive an email with step-by-step instructions. Your Form 4 is officially submitted after certification is complete.

During certification, you enter your ATF eForms username and 4-digit PIN. The information in your ATF eForms account must match your Capitol Armory profile exactly. The ATF validates your submission by comparing the information we provide with your eForms account. Be sure your full name and email address match in both places.

If you encounter issues with your ATF eForms account or 4-digit PIN, please contact the ATF directly. Capitol Armory cannot provide support for ATF eForms account management.
